Secure sustainable funding and infrastructure to support growth
In 1986, the 25,000 square foot the Institute building opened. In 1999, the building was expanded to include a Photonic Incubator, a 12,000 square foot addition. The Photonic Incubator was designed for technology commercialization and was one of the first incubators in the UC system. In 2019, 10,000 square feet of space opened in the UCI Beall Applied Innovation building in UCI Research Park, dedicated to the Institute-led Convergence Optical Sciences Initiative (COSI) for academic-industry collaboration and commercialization.
We will secure the resources and funding to acquire cutting-edge laboratory equipment and provide much-needed facility updates that promote seamless collaboration and consistent communication between research teams.
