Access to Careers in Engineering and Sciences (ACES)
The UC Irvine Beckman Laser Institute & Medical Clinic’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCU) Access to Career in Engineering and Sciences (ACES) is an impactful initiative aimed at increasing underrepresented students in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) graduate programs.
This transformative eight-week summer training program provides high-achieving undergraduate students with invaluable:
- Hands-on cutting-edge research opportunities
- Mentorship from esteemed faculty and graduate students
- Insight into academic and industry careers
- Workshops for graduate school preparation
ACES not only introduces students to the diverse graduate offerings at UC Irvine but also equips participants with the skills and experience needed to become future leaders in STEM fields.
When you make a gift in support of ACES, you provide life-changing opportunities for aspiring ACES scholars, while helping to foster a more diverse and inclusive academic community. As a donor, your generosity supports essential program expenses, such as research supplies, housing, travel, meals, stipends and scholarships.
A gift of:
- $100 supports a student’s culminating research presentation materials
- $500 supports a student’s lab research supplies
- $1,000 supports a student’s travel/transportation expenses
- $2,000 supports a student’s campus dining hall meals
- $4,000 supports a student’s campus housing
- $15,000 supports a student scholarship, covering all program expenses (supplies and materials, travel, housing, meals, stipends and UC Irvine graduate student mentorship support)
Your contributions not only support the immediate needs of students but also invest in their long-term success. Click here to donate in support of this meaningful initiative!
